Yorkshire Dales National Park Tourism Forum 2019

We are delighted to invite you to our annual 2019 Forum, to be held at the prestigious Sedbergh School, where you will hear from a range of inspirational speakers. This year we are very pleased to welcome Sarah Dunning OBE, Chair of Westmorland Limited, as our keynote speaker.

Tailored for people running tourism businesses in the Dales, the theme of the day is “Sharing Successes” and as the title suggests, this is an opportunity to network with tourism business representatives, as well as learning about what some businesses are doing to grow and flourish, while giving you helpful hints and tips to take away.

You'll also hear from representatives from organisations leading on key projects in the Yorkshire Dales and find out what is planned for the coming season.

Sedbergh, famous for being England’s official book town, will provide the backdrop to the three exclusive “behind the scenes” tours, to be held after lunch. The tours will leave from the school at around 2pm and are expected last around an hour.

If you would like to attend a tour, please indicate your choice on your place booking. Spaces are limited but we will do our best to accomodate your choice of tour.

Tour 1: A round the town tour of Sedbergh to visit local businesses – Take a wander round England’s official Book Town with staff from the Information Centre, as they take you to meet some of the town’s fabulous and varied businesses.

Tour 2: A tour of the Black Bull – Meet local business owner, James Radcliffe and take an in-depth look at the beautiful and newly refurbished building in the centre of Sedbergh.

Tour 3: Tour of Sedbergh school – Join Katie de la Riviere (School Archivist) to learn about the fascinating history and heritage of the school.

Space is limited and places must be booked in advance.

If travelling by car, please car-share, where possible. There are two pay and display car parks (Loftus Hll and Joss Lane) within walking distance of the venue.
